The summer transfer window is wide open. Many potential deals are at a stalemate. Three steps can help your club win the transfer market.
Many football fans have had the experience of trying to make transfers for their teams on career modes on popular video games. These games, for all its realism, are indeed what they say they are: simulations.
Yet, the artificial transfer markets do have some pinches of realism. Transfers on Football Manager, for example, can be quite delicate and complicated.
In the current world of transfers, deals are being proposed, negotiated, and finalized through the prisms of a new financial reality created by the pandemic and the total uncertainty of what the future may hold.
The biggest question for football fans comes down to “Will my club win the transfer market?”
Winning the transfer market is likely to be in the eye of the beholder for everyone. All fans have their ideas of which players should come in, who should leave, and what each new signing means to their team’s immediate future.
I propose another question needs to be answered:
How can my club win the transfer market?
Before being able to answer the question of how a club can “win” the market; there are three things that need to be understood.
One, everyone involved in the transfer business process, are human beings with different expectations, needs, desires, and fears.
Two, everyone is seeking to either maintain or obtain something of tangible or intangible value.
Lastly, your club’s situation in the transfer window is defined by the reality of their condition on and off the pitch. Any club that attempts to cloud, ignore, or avoid objective reality is asking for disaster.
