Striker: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – €120 million

Not since Alan Shearer has there been an English striker scoring at an imperious rate quite like how Harry Kane is scoring now, with the Tottenham Hotspur hitman emerging as one of the deadliest forwards on the planet since bursting onto the scene.

He’s already amassed 143 goals in the Premier League from just 207 games for Spurs, also finishing as the top-scorer for 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, and needs just six more goals to break into the competition’s list of top 10 scorers in history – frightening when you see he’s still only 27.

An out-and-out striker with clinical finishing and prolific goalscoring ability, Kane has transcended his form onto the international stage too, leading his team to its first World Cup semi-final in 18 years in Russia and most recently finishing as the top-scorer in the Euro qualifiers.

A spate of injuries in the last two seasons has seen him miss a handful of games, but there’s no question of how important he remains to Tottenham’s rebuild under Jose Mourinho.

Striker: Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) – €180 million

Kylian Mbappe’s list of achievements resembles that of a footballing legend in the twilight of his career, but to have enjoyed so much success at the age of 21 is quite simply phenomenal.

The French forward is lightning quick and possesses ruthless finishing skills, having scored over a century of goals in his career already. His blistering exploits have even won him the domestic Golden Boot for each of the past two seasons after finishing as Ligue 1’s top-scorer.

A talismanic figure for both club and country, his accomplishments include winning the French top-flight on four occasions already with PSG and AS Monaco, whilst also playing an instrumental role in France’s World Cup success in 2018.

Players like Mbappe come once in a generation, and for all his talents and temperament, is heavily touted to win the Ballon d’Or in the future and emulate legends such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
