Jorginho
Lampard has a tendency to substitute Jorginho midway through the match but this is only because he has an overhaul of midfield talent. I feel like Jorginho will retain his place in the starting XI and deservedly so, after picking up a goal and an assist against Brighton.
Against Liverpool, the Italian midfielder will be key to dictating the play and spreading balls out wide if need be.
N’Golo Kante
I don’t think there will be any real questions here, N’Golo Kante will keep his place in the starting XI. After all, in matches like this, he often comes out as the most important player on the pitch. Kante will be key to carrying out all the defensive and nitty-gritty chores in the midfield, which will be a tough ask against Liverpool.
If there is anyone that can keep up with the electrifying tempo of Klopp’s frontline, it’s Kante.
Kai Havertz
While he didn’t have the best of debuts, it was the perfect time for Kai Havertz to acclimatise himself to the English game and his new teammates. He will mean business against Liverpool, and I’m certain that Lampard won’t be put off by his performance against Brighton.
Havertz is an exceptional creator and he had some positive touches in and around the box last weekend; fans will be hoping for more of the same. I may be neutral, but I hope he grabs a goal or an assist for the sake of my FPL.
Mason Mount
The partnership of Mason Mount and Havertz worked for Chelsea in matchweek 1, so Lampard won’t need to fix something that’s not broken. Mount is an exceptional player that like Havertz, prides himself on the ability to create. His energy will be required against Liverpool and all the helping hand that the attackers can get, they will happily take.
