Arsenal haven’t stopped at the Aubameyang news.

The end of last season was a positive one for Arsenal fans and it’s continued into the beginning of this season too. They have won their opening two games and have fixed their biggest crisis, by tying down Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to a contract extension.

The Gabon international hailed Mikel Arteta’s positive change at the club and explained that his words made the decision to stay final for him. It was great news for Arsenal fans and it means the squad anxiety can be eased for the remainder of the season.

But there is still more work to be done. Of course, if this Aubameyang situation has taught the Gunners anything it should be that leaving things late isn’t the best way to go about thins (although sometimes I understand this is not always in the control of the board).

According to a new report from the Mirror, Mikel Arteta is not too concerned about Alexandre Lacazette’s situation at this moment in time. The French striker has two years remaining on his contract and there were rumours this summer that the gunners wanted to sell him, although that move didn’t come into fruition.

Arteta says he is expecting there to be speculation surrounding the Frenchman’s name, and I would assume so too especially now the Aubameyang situation has died down.

But Lacazette will continue to work hard for the club each week, as he has done since he arrived from Lyon. So far, he is Arsenal’s top scorer after scoring in the consecutive opening games. This is not a surprise since the Frenchman often starts the season on a strong foot.

Fans shouldn’t be too concerned about keeping hold of Lacazette if Arteta’s words are anything to go by. After all, the Spaniard has given the fans every reason to trust his process since his arrival halfway through last season.
