Wolverhampton Wanderers have just confirmed the signing of right-back Nelson Semedo from Barcelona.

The Blaugrana’s official website claimed that the Premier League side will pay them €30 million and another €10 million in variables.

Wolves have stated that Semedo has signed a three-year deal with the option to extend until 2025. The Portuguese international leaves Barcelona with 124 appearances since joining them from Benfica. During his time in Catalonia, the 26-year-old scored twice while providing 11 assists. Last season, he featured in 32 matches for the Blaugrana, finding the net in their final La Liga match against Alaves.

Semedo is a pretty decent full-back who likes to make progressive runs down the flank and aid his team offensively. He is a pretty good passer of the ball, having had a pretty good pass completion rate of 89.4% in La Liga last season.

More from FC Barcelona

The Portuguese international is a pretty good dribbler as well with a completion rate of 70.5% in the 2019/20 league term. Defensively, he needs to improve a bit though.

After losing Matt Doherty to Tottenham earlier this summer, Wolves have made a suitable addition to their squad in Semedo, having signed Ki-Jana Hoever from Liverpool a few days back.

As for Barcelona, they certainly will be keen on signing a replacement for the 26-year-old as soon as they can. Sergi Roberto is capable of playing right-back but the Blaugrana can certainly do better than that.

The La Liga giants have been linked to Ajax teenager Sergino Dest but face competition from Bayern Munich. Lately, Max Aarons has also been linked to them with a report from Catalonian newspaper Sport claiming that  an agreement has been reached between the 20-year-old and the club. They also stated that Bayern are ahead in the race to sign Dest. Hence, it will be interesting to see who the Blaugrana sign eventually.

Semedo could well make his debut for Wolves in their Premier League fixture against West Ham in London on Sunday.
