There are pros and cons to this deal for Chelsea fans.

It’s still yet to be seen whether or not Chelsea’s transfer window has been a successful one. Yes, they signed a multitude of talented players but those signings are yet to gel together on the pitch and, in all honesty, even so much as impress the fans.

You could also make the case that the Blues, while exciting the fans and giving Lampard plenty of options, have just blindly signed talented players without any real strategy. It’s always difficult to accommodate this level of stardom without first shifting the deadwood players out to make some room.

It’s now been revealed by the Mirror that Frank Lampard is still pushing for a move for Declan Rice, a player that is receiving a lot of hype in England for his work with West Ham and his sheer versatility. It’s been reported that this move would see Jorginho make the move to Arsenal.

More from Chelsea FC

This would be the second player Chelsea have lost this transfer window to their London rivals, after Willian signed for them on a pre-contract agreement.

Of course, fans can have no real complaints. Jorginho has been on the cusp of the starting XI for some time and to sign Declan Rice would leave little or no room for him. Going forward, the best option is to lose Jorginho for the long-term benefit of the club.

Jorginho is a creative midfielder that prefers to play deeper. That said, Chelsea would get a new dynamic in their midfield with Rice specialising in his defensive exploits. Arsenal, on the other hand, wouldn’t need to adopt their philosophy since the Italian would complement Xhaka’s playing style well.

Do you think that Jorginho signing for Arsenal benefits all parties? And if not, I would love to hear your thinking in the comments.
