8. Tottenham

Tottenham would have been in fifth place with six points if it were not for VAR interfering to grant Newcastle United a penalty in the 97th minute.

Spurs struggled against Everton on opening day, but they dominated both Southampton and Newcastle United in the last two weeks, having scored six goals in the process.

7. Chelsea

Stamford Bridge is the new Wall Street in London, but the new squad is still trying to adapt to each other. Chelsea started the season with a win at Brighton, were defeated 2-0 at Anfield the following week, and fought back to salvage a point against West Brom after trailing 3-0 at halftime.

Frank Lampard has some top talent at his disposal, but how much time will they need to get up and running?

6. Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace were being tapped as relegation favorites by several pundits before the season began, but they are off to a flying start. With two wins over Southampton and Manchester United, Roy Hodgson’s men are in the top six with six points.

Crystal Palace lost to Everton as a result of a controversial penalty, but they held their own in that clash.
