Arsenal are doing what’s best for the club by selling these midfielders.

Mikel Arteta is getting in the swing of things at Arsenal and he’s positively improved the club tenfold since he was unveiled as manager. However, there were always bound to be some players that he didn’t gel with, and this transfer window is the time to dispose of them in the correct manner, for the sake of the club going forward.

It looks likely that Lucas Torreira will leave the club on a loan, as he’s been looking to move away for some weeks now. But another midfielder who is out of favour under Arteta is Matteo Guendouzi, so his fate will soon be told I’m sure.

According to a new report from The Mirror, Guendouzi is now set for a move to Hertha Berlin with a deal expected to be complete before the transfer deadline day.

Guendouzi has been a great servant to Arsenal since he arrived from the French football ranks but I can’t help thinking it’s time for him to move on now. For whatever reason, he and Arteta don’t see eye to eye and there’s no room for him in the Gunners squad. For him to stay would be wasted potential, so he should go and make a name for himself in Germany.

Who knows? Perhaps Arsenal will come to regret the decision to sell him; in all honesty, that wouldn’t surprise me given our insistency to sell the wrong players in recent seasons. But I repeat, selling him would be the lesser of two evils for he has no place in this squad.

Guendouzi’s disciplinary issues could be at the heart of Arteta’s decision to sell him as he is known to be a bit of a hothead on the pitch, which puts his teammates at risk.

Do you think Arsenal should sell Matteo Guendouzi?
