Arsenal could disappointingly loan out this hyped defender

Well, this would be Arsenal’s most anticlimactic signing in a while.
Since arriving as the new Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has prioritised one position; the defence. And rightly so, given this has been the club’s downfall in recent seasons. He has improved the performances of a few formerly lacklustre defenders and also implemented a signing of his own in Gabriel Magalhaes.
Many, inclduing myself, predicted that this season would be a breakthrough one for William Saliba. Saliba was signed by Unai Emery but spent last season out on loan at Saint Etienne. However, he is yet to make an appearance for Arsenal this season.
Now, it looks likely that he will go out on a second loan spell. According to a report from Goal, Arsenal are considering a loan move for William Saliba, with Brentford of the Championship interested in signing him.

While I suppose this would be a good thing technically speaking, since the Frenchman would be getting some experience of English football, it is a little disappointing to see. I was hoping to see him in competitive action at least once this season because he is considered to be our next big thing in the defence.
Still, I suppose Mikel Arteta knows more about him than we do. Perhaps he has seen something in training that he doesn’t like and that’s convinced him he needs some time away from the club, in which case we as fans should respect his judgement and wish the best for Saliba.
Of course, despite not seeing much of Saliba in an Arsenal shirt, we know from his time at Saint Etienne that he is a motivated character who is always looking to work on his performance and improve his game.
