Chelsea are preparing to lose Kepa in January and rightly so

Chelsea decided to keep him in the summer, but they won’t repeat that.

Chelsea were so focused on bringing in some top quality talent that they didn’t find the time to sort out their Kepa Arrizabalaga situation; not only did they not manage to make a goalkeeper signing, but they also didn’t sell Kepa which would have been the best decision for the club.

Of course, I don’t know everything that goes on behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge, but it doesn’t take a genius with insider knowledge to tell you that Kepa and Frank Lampard do not get along. It was the same when Maurizio Sarri was at the helm, let’s not forget.

Recently, Petr Cech was a surprise inclusion in Chelsea’s Premier League squad, which should pretty much show where Lampard stands with Kepa. The veteran goalkeeper will put on his gloves again to work under Lampard, the two of them sharing a successful playing career together for many years.

More from Chelsea FC

According to Estadio Deportivo, Chelsea are slowly but surely preparing to loan out Kepa Arrizabalaga in the January transfer window. It’s thought that Sevilla of his home country are prepared to fight to sign him on loan and I assume there will be an option to buy included.

Kepa is a splendid goalkeeper, although the falling out with the club has clearly taken its toll on his performances as he looks depleted of confidence at times, as the game against Liverpool proved.

With that being said, Chelsea are definitely making the right decision by loaning him out. If they choose to not include an option to buy, then this would enable the Blues to keep him should he regain his form in La Liga. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if a replacement was signed in January; something the blues failed to do in the summer window.

Next. Scoring won't be an issue for Chelsea this season. dark
