Granit Xhaka

While Xhaka may not have featured in the game against Manchester United, this was not due to personal reasons. Arteta simply favoured Elneny in the XI, but Xhaka returned to action against Molde and he was a used substitute at Ole Trafford let’s not forget.

With many assuming his position is under threat, I don’t think it ever will be. In the long-run, Xhaka has proven to be Arsenal’s most important midfielder and more often than not, the midfield falls apart without Xhaka in it. Last weekend was the exception, Xhaka will start against Manchester United.

Mohamed Elneny

There is no reason to drop Mohamed Elneny to the bench for he is in fine form. This season, he has arguably been one of the more consistent midfielders. His energy levels against Manchester United were amazing and he will look to continue this fine work against Aston Villa.

Thomas Partey

If his performance against Manchester United is anything to go by, then Thomas Partey looks set to be one of the signings of the summer. He is incredible with the ball at his feet and he put in a graveyard shift to outplay the likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes. He got the man of the match award and he will certainly look to shine for his new club again.
