Manchester United will do their best to replace this midfielder.

Manchester United aren’t having the best of times this season. Poor displays against the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal see the Red Devils sit 14th in the table, a position which even throughout their worst stage, they are not accustomed to.

One thing’s for sure, changes need to be made. Whether that is at the top or the bottom, any decision, or lack of decision, which the board make from here on out will be closely scrutinised, and so it should be. With the January transfer window only around the corner (I know, I know. I’m yet to do my Christmas shopping too, you’re not alone), it’s important for a strategy to be put in place now.

United must be honest with their expectations. They shouldn’t expect Paul Pogba, for example, to remain at the club any longer. He is clearly destined to be elsewhere, since Ole has done all he can to integrate him into the starting XI but it’s not worked.

Luckily, United possess plenty of talent in the midfield so they won’t feel Pogba’s loss as much as they could have done. However, he will still come as a big loss to the Red Devils, as he is a world-class midfielder on his day. It just don’t work out for him in England, anymore.

According to a new report from Manchester Evening News, United are preparing to make a move for Jack Grealish, in preparation for when Pogba ultimately leaves the club. This, to me, shows that United have pretty much accepted they will sell Pogba, and have lined up a replacement.

Pogba’s next destination remainds unknown, but from rumours over the last few seasons, I can only assume he will join Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.
