2. Alexandre Lacazette

My patience has been running low with Alexandre Lacazette for some time now. It’s almost like he goes through a couple of weeks where he can’t stop scoring, and then a couple of months where he scores the odd goal. I’m fed up with it, and I refuse to be fooled by his occasional patches of form anymore.

He needs to come back strong from this international break, but the difference is, he must remain strong. Arsenal have a multitude of attacking talent and Arteta is not the kind to rest on his laurels, so he will bench Lacazette is he doesn’t start to perform.

Lacazette primarily plays through the middle and although his role is more than just goal scoring, he should be the one to step up and score when things aren’t going Arsenal’s way. It’s just frustrating because he finds himself in in some incredible positions, due to his fine work off the ball, but can’t come up with the big moment in recent games.

I’m by no means saying it’s now or never for Lacazette. Arteta likes him, and Arteta clearly knows more than me about football. But what I’m saying is, from a fan’s point of view, the Frenchman needs to start scoring again if he’s taking Aubameyang’s place in the middle of a front line.
