Reece James

Reece James is in great form , starting for the Blues consecutively across the Premier League and the Champions League. I don’t see this changing anytime soon, especially as Frank Lampard seems to have found his perfect defence. He will be looking to bomb forward down the right-hand side and provide crosses to the attackers.

Thiago Silva

Silva has been a great signing for Chelsea and many would argue this has been against the odds, since many questioned his age. But I am not surprised, Silva has played at the top level throughout most of his career and this doesn’t look to be changing anytime soon. He will get the start again versus Newcastle.

Kurt Zouma

I recently dubbed Kurt Zouma as my most improved Chelsea player this season, and I stand by it. He looks like a different player next to Thiago Silva and the two certainly complement each other well. For as long as this partnership blossoms, Lampard will continue to deploy them together. Zouma will get the nod again here.

Ben Chilwell

Much like Silva, Chilwell has been an astonishing signing since making the move from Leciester City this summer. He got a goal in the last match against Sheffield United and in all honesty, the way he attacks, it wouldn’t surprise me if he got another one against Newcastle.

It’s a new-look backline for Lampard, and he is reaping all the rewards. Don’t expect that to change.

The midfield, however…
