Bukayo Saka – 8/10
You could clearly see that Bukayo Saka is the personification of confidence right now. As soon as he was brought onto the pitch, Arsenal’s spirit lifted, even with ten players. The Englishman capped off a fine international break by transcending his form back into the Premier League, creating a few chances and even coming close to winning the game for the Gunners in the final ten minutes. It was a shame he couldn’t start the match ahead of Pepe.
Let’s hope his injury isn’t too severe.
Reiss Nelson – 6/10
He worked well with the limited time he had available to him. I mean, I know it’s not always right to compare, but he certainly did more than Willian and Nicolas Pepe did.
In my honest opinion, Nelson should be starting for Arsenal more. He is hungry to succeed and always puts in 100%, which is more than can be said for the aforementioned wingers.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles – N/A
Only played a few minutes so it would be unfair of me to give him a rating based on that.
Mikel Arteta – 6/10
Given the way the game went and the moment of thoughtlessness from Nicolas Pepe, Arteta should be happy with a draw. His team selection was pretty good and he is clearly angry with Pepe for his red card.
But still, Arsenal must turn their form around. Drawing to Leeds is less than ideal at this stage of the season.
What did you make of Arsenal’s display?
