The Manchester United boss is not happy with the media.

The goalkeeper conundrum was one that forefronted Manchester United’s busy summer transfer window. The fanbase was split in two, with many thinking David de Gea should remain the number one, and others thinking that Dean Henderson had done enough on loan to warrant a place in the Manchester United XI upon his return.

I personally was on the latter side, thinking Henderson should be number one. This was because last season De Gea simply wasn’t good enough for me. However, I will happily eat my words now as the Spaniard has put in some good displays so far this season.

Upon hid return, Henderson has had a hard time getting in ahead of de Gea and understandably so. This resulted in rumours that Henderson would be sent out on another loan spell come the January transfer window.

More from Manchester United

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided his two cents on this. According to a report from Sky Sports, the Norwegian boss has indicated that he wants Dean Henderson to remain a Manchester United player, ruling out any potential for a January move.

Henderson spent last season on loan at Sheffield United and to say he impressed would be an understatement. In fact, you can see how much his presence was felt by the fact the Blades have been awful without him.

So you can understand why Sheffield United would like to re-sign him in the January transfer window, as he would give them a much better second half of this season and could even prevent them from being relegated. Although, let’s face it, that would take a miracle.

So, fans can rest assured now that Dean Henderson will remain a United player, but they will still hope to see more from him in the remainder of the season.
