It’s an important North London derby for Arsenal.

Arsenal face a trip across the pond to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in little under 24 hours for their first North London derby of the season. They come up against a rampant and in-form side managed by Jose Mourinho, so they are certainly underdogs.

However, as proven many times in the past, anything can happen in the North London derby. And anything can happen in the Premier League; form is rarely the telling indicator.

Mikel Arteta will be firing his side up like any other match, but he knows this matchup has a deeper-routed meaning, not only to the fans, but to the players and himself. After all, he knows all about the hatred for the Lilywhites due to his days as a player for the Gunners.

Here’s how Arteta should lineup to best-match Mourinho…

Bernd Leno

No questions asked here. Leno is the man for the big occasion and while Runarsson gets a great runout in the Europa League, the Premier League is Leno’s competition and he will thrive on the chance to play against the rivals of which he has shined against many times already.
