Hector Bellerin – 5/10

He played some good passes and looked to get forward to help out with the attack as much as possible. But other than this, Bellerin’s performance was nothing short of average. I mean, he did nothing to hinder his reputation, but he did nothing to impress the fans either; a few wayward passes also took away from his overall rating.

Thomas Partey – 6/10

Partey was very good when he was on the field and he was the reason Arsenal had a lot of spark in the midfield. However, he unfortunately suffered an injury which saw him ejected from the lineup before the first half ended; perhaps this was a result of introducing him back into the XI too early into his recovery.

Granit Xhaka – 6/10

Put in a lot of strong challenges, which you could argue is needed in a game like this. However, some of the challenges were untimely, for example stopping the play when the Gunners were running out of time and chasing a goal. Although, he did put in some great passes and would often spread the play when Arsenal’s philosophy wasn’t working.

Bukayo Saka – 6/10

Saka was not his electrifying self today, but he was still pretty good. He was at the heart of many Arsenal attacks and especially in the second half, he looked like providing the touch that would produce an Arsenal goal. Unfortunately, though, it wasn’t to be; although this was not a testament to his character on the ball.
