Chelsea fans are going to like this one, for once.

Over the last couple of months, Chelsea fans will have hated to see one club’s name in the headlines; Bayern Munich. This is because the German club have been very public in their admiration for Callum Hudson-Odoi and how they wish to sign the 20-year-old.

Hudson-Odoi, while he may not be a sure starter under Frank Lampard, oftentimes puts in a great display whenever he is featured. He has been unlucky with his injury record at the start of his career, but this is not to take away from the progress he’s made when fit.

He is a rapid forward that is very direct in his approach. He is a good dribbler of the ball and he plays a good pass, which has helped him to integrate with his attacking teammates. That said, Frank Lampard won’t want to lose him any time soon.

More from Chelsea FC

During his short-lived managerial career, the former Chelsea midfielder has had his fair share of critics. But one thing he can’t be faulted on is his work with young players; the Blues now home some of the best young players in the league.

According to a new report from Goal, Chelsea fans can rest assured. It’s been reported that Bayern Munich will no longer chase Hudson-Odoi in the January transfer window. I assume this would be due to financial constraints, he won’t be cheap. However, he remains a long-term target.

This shouldn’t worry Chelsea fans too much. If Lampard can promise the young Englishman some time in the starting XI, which is particularly important as he wants to be playing in the upcoming European championships, then he will be happy where he is. The fans are on his side, he just needs trust from the manager and his morale will be high.

Do you think Chelsea will keep Callum Hudson-Odoi?
