Manchester United fans, you can look away from the brick wall now.

Well, what a boring Manchester derby that was. It’s not often you’ll hear me say that sentence because as a neutral, this is a game I often look forward to.

Neither team showed any urgency to get forward and score a goal and even in the few occasions that there was a chance to score, I for one wasn’t on the edge of my seat.

Both sides had the opportunity to creep into the Premier League top four with a win in this game but you wouldn’t have thought it. In the end, a goalless draw seems rather fitting given the quality of football we have just endured.

But in a boring display, were there any Manchester United players that stood out?

David de Gea – 7/10

Wasn’t presented with as many City openings as he had perhaps anticipated. However, when he was challenged, the Spaniard stood up to the occasion well. He is experienced in this fixture, so this is to be expected. He got to the ground expertly and used his frame to the best of his ability.
