Arsenal: Arteta hints Mesut Ozil could rejoin the squad soon

Arsenal may call upon Mesut Ozil again come the second half of the season.
Although it appears Mikel Arteta has made progress at Arsenal, there’s no denying they are in poor form this season. The Gunners, at the time of writing this, sit 15th in the Premier League, although they could move above Leeds United with a win this evening.
The decision to leave Mesut Ozil out of the squad may or may not have played a part in this. However, it’s human nature for fans and the manager to ponder what could have been if Ozil was available for selection.
I said before that it’s the creativity that’s lacking for Arsenal. Compared to their Premier League counterparts, ESPECIALLY the big six, they are not creating anything near enough chances. This leaves the goalscorers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette with little to feed on, so you can understand their frustration.

The good news for the Gunners is that it’s still early days in the season, when you consider it begun late. Also, the league table is tighter than it’s been in some time, so with a good run of form, they could easily climb the table. But they need inspiration to do so.
The January transfer window couldn’t come at a better time, and it’s a time for Arteta to update his squad list. According to a new report from the Daily Star, the Spaniard is reluctant to rule out Ozil’s return, as he is very much open to the idea.
The German playmaker’s contract runs out at the end of this season so he will be free to discuss signing elsewhere should he wish to. However, even during this tough time, Ozil has stuck loyal to Arsenal and has been working hard for a comeback. It’s hard to say it would be a bad decision for Arteta to leave Ozil out of the squad for a second time this season.
