AINSLEY MAITLAND-NILES

With Hector Bellerin unavailable through suspension, Maitland-Niles will return to the starting XI for this one. Granted, he would rather play as a midfielder, but he makes a good full-back and he will need to be strong against the potent Southampton attack which hosts no injuries.

DAVID LUIZ

Luiz has been out for some weeks, but I think he will be the second change in defence for Arteta. While Holding has been good in his absence, it’s time to return to the iconic duo.

GABRIEL MAGALHAES

Arsenal’s player of the season so far and one of the only players to take responsibility and apologise for their frailties, Gabriel will start in this match. He has become accustomed to scoring from set pieces, but his mind will be on preventing Danny Ings from getting on the scoresheet.

KIERAN TIERNEY

Tierney will start in this match. He is pretty much one of the first names on the team sheet. Kolasinac plays in the Europa League, but in the important Premier League where Arsenal need a win more than ever, there’s no topping Tierney.
