MANCHESTER CITY
If Barcelona can’t pay Messi’s wages, then one club certainly can; Manchester City. The Citizens, who are managed by Pep Guardiola, would salivate at the thought of signing Lionel Messi. As they look to keep up with their rivals in the league and win silverware this season, signing Messi in January would be the best boost any club could ask for.
City are yet to win a Champions League trophy in their history and, in fact, they haven’t even been to a final in the competition yet. This is one of their biggest aims and they have the financial resources to stake a claim. Signing Messi would surely complete their quest to become the super club they aspire to be.
It would also be a captivating challenge for Messi, who likes a challenge.
