PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN

It’s not the first time these two financial powerhouses have fought it out, and it won’t be the last either. Paris Saint-Germain are the joint candidates to sign Lionel Messi in January. The Parisians, much like Manchester City, owe much of their success in recent times to financial backing, however, they too are yet to win the illustrious Champions League trophy.

The pull factor for Messi to Paris Saint-Germain is Neymar. The former-Barcelona man has a great relationship with Messi and with him at the Parc des Princes, it won’t take long for the Argentine to settle into his potential new home. Like signing with City, the challenge would be to compete more in European football, which Messi is accustomed to doing.
