The January transfer window is fast approaching for Chelsea

Chelsea endured a successful summer transfer window and even that seems like an understatement. They spent the most of any Premier League side and the signings have settled into Stamford Bridge well.

However, Frank Lampard would like his side’s league standing to be better. The Blues currently sit sixth in the league, which at this stage of the season is not disastrous, but he would be hoping for better. That said, the upcoming January transfer window will be the perfect time for him to add to his squad.

Here are three players that must be moved on, in order to make room for potential incomings.

JORGINHO

There was a little moment in the season where Lampard had relieved Jorginho of his penalty taking privileges. In all honesty, as a neutral fan, this is the only thing that strikes me as Jorginho’s forte. That said, this could be an indication of Lampard’s motives this January.

Jorginho has not been playing nearly enough in recent times. Playing in what is supposed to be the peak of his career, the Italy international will want to be getting more minutes, especially with the European championships coming up this summer.

Selling him just seems to make the most sense for Chelsea. That way, they can focus their attention on aiming to sign Declan Rice from West Ham.
