Arsenal may call upon their own sources of persuasion

Arsenal did some very good business under Unai Emery in the 2019 summer transfer window. They signed Kieran Tierney, a Scottish full-back from Celtic who has now turned into a valuable player for the Gunners and he starts most matches when he’s fit.

He is one of the players currently who is mounting Arsenal’s resurgence of form under Mikel Arteta, hence why he is oftentimes the first name on the Spaniard’s team sheet.

But now, Arsenal will require Tierney’s services not just on the pitch, but also behind the scenes. According to 90min, the Gunners want to take another swoop at Celtic, but this time they wish to sign Ryan Christie. However, they are not the only club who wish to sign the 25-year-old midfielder, so they may call upon Tierney to convince his countryman and former teammate.

Footballers are human. They talk, just like humans would in any other profession. Once a player leaves a club, they are not expected to cut all ties with their former teammates, this would be silly. Celtic is a club that Tierney holds close to his heart, so he will of course be in contact with old teammates.

The Bhoys are not doing too great at the moment in the Scottish Premier League. It is a league they are accustomed to dominating, but this season, their Old Firm counterparts Rangers are taking the league by storm.

Perhaps this is because Celtic are missing the strong voice that their fans carry at home games, or perhaps it’s a credit to Steven Gerrard‘s fine work at the Ibrox Stadium. In fact, just today did the Liverpool legend secure a win over Celtic, courtesy of a sending off on the Bhoys’ behalf. That said, Christie could be convinced to take on a new challenge in England.
