At 3/1 odds, Rodgers is the betting favorite to potentially replace Lampard at Chelsea. While Rodgers will be most be remembered by Chelsea fans as the Liverpool manager behind Chelsea’s 2-0 win derailing Liverpool’s title chances, he previously served as an assistant under José Mourinho, Avram Grant, and Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Rodgers took over Liverpool in 2012 after managing Watford, Reading, and Swansea City and has since managed Celtic before returning to Premier League side Leicester City. Rodgers likely possesses the most Premier League experience of the potential Lampard replacements and is currently one point off Liverpool atop the Premier League table. After being sacked early into the 2015-2016 campaign, Rodgers spent eight months away from management before taking over Celtic.

His time at Celtic saw Rodgers grow as a manager, clinching his first domestic title in the 2015-2016 Scotting Premiership. Rodgers’s time at Celtic was incredibly successful, winning three titles which included a 69 match unbeaten streak. His time between Liverpool and Celtic has turned Leicester City into a Premier League contender once again following a period of transition after Leicester’s 2016 title.

Leicester finished fifth in Rodgers’s first full season with the club, putting the Foxes amongst the “big six” in England. Rodgers is a firmly established Premier League manager with a history of playing both flexible and attacking football. It would be seen if Rodgers would leave Leicester for Chelsea amid a title chase, however, if Rodgers continues to exceed expectations, could be poised to once again manage one of England’s more successful clubs.
