Arsenal don’t want to be losing any important players this month.

As Arsenal are now beginning to find the right momentum, after their dip in form last month, they will want to utilise this transfer window to the best of their abilities so they can push for a higher finish in the English Premier League.

Mikel Arteta has made his opinions implicitly clear on some players in the dressing room. For example, there doesn’t look to be any future for Mesut Ozil or Matteo Guendouzi at Emirates Stadium. But certain players such as Alexandre Lacazette, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have been in great form lately.

According to AS, though, the Gunners run the risk of losing Lacazette. The Spanish outlet claims that Atletico Madrid are still keen to sign the Frenchman, perhaps as Luis Suarez‘s future replacement as the Uruguayan is 33 years old and isn’t going to be around forever.

Arsenal really don’t want to be losing Lacazette this January. I know, this may come as a shock to hear me of all people saying this, but I will gladly admit when I’m wrong. I’ve been very vocal of Lacazette’s shortcomings in the past, so it’s important to give him credit where its due, he’s been the striker that has stepped up to the mark in recent times, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been coasting somewhat.

It would seem by the various reports from differing outlets that Arsenal aren’t in the hunt to sign a striker this month, as they don’t need to be. Their focus seems to be on a creative midfielder and a backup goalkeeper. With that being said, it would seem that Arsenal sway in the favour of keeping Lacazette, although AS claim that Arteta’s “feud”  with Lacazette (which seems nonsensical given his form and trust) could make the deal go ahead.
