No Thomas Partey, no party. The Ghanaian international will start in a deep-lying midfield role for the Gunners, and his aim will be to win back possession and contribute to the progressive nature of Arteta’s counter-attack.
GRANIT XHAKA
The dictator of play for Arsenal, Granit Xhaka will start in the midfield. The Swiss international will be responsible for making sure the passes are completed in a positive and timely manner, spraying the ball out wide whenever need be. He will also need to help out defensively when need be as this area of his game has improved tenfold.
EMILE SMITH ROWE
With two defence-minded midfielders to partner him, Emile Smith Rowe will be given all the attacking freedom to create. It’s clear to see how much better the Gunners are with him in the staring XI.
