Chelsea board grant Tuchel’s wishes with this Dortmund superstar
By Kian Long
Thomas Tuchel spent some great years of his career at Borussia Dortmund developing the finest young players in Europe. That said, even now as Chelsea manager, he is bound to have an emotional attachment to his former club and will watch them occasionally.
Even as someone with limited interest in football, you would have probably have heard of Erling Haaland’s name by now. Not only because of his surprisingly monotone interviews but because the work he puts in on and off the pitch to become one of the best young players in the world.
Ageing at 20 years old, the Norwegian international is not being linked with a move to some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Chelsea and Manchester City.

One of the driving forces behind Chelsea’s interest is Thomas Tuchel. According to a report from Bild (via the Sun), Tuchel’s wishes could now become a reality as the Stamford Bridge hierarchy have given him the green light to sign Haaland.
Haaland’s playing style makes him perfectly equipped to make in the top flight of English football. He is an unorthodox player that prides himself on physicality, but interestingly he is also very quick and athletic in his ability. Therefore, plenty of avenues for Tuchel to explore.
Timo Werner hasn’t paid off as a big-money signing. Therefore, you can understand Chelsea’s desire to sign a new striker in the mould of Haaland. He would improve the side pretty much straight away, but would also be a long-term investment and is Champions League proven. It’s essentially a win-win!
It will just take a lot to convince both the club and the player to sell, naturally, but with the financial resources and pull Chelsea have, this is more than doable.
