My man of the match Tierney and Smith-Rowe who also played brilliantly dominated the left-hand side for if not all, the majority of the game and Tierney was certainly the spark in many of the moves that happened and chances that were created.

The two of them combined created seven chances throughout the game and Smith-Rowe had an incredible 97% pass success rate.

Tierney completed a total of six accurate long balls, which is so important in Arsenal’s forward play and getting the ball into the final third. Tierney was the main source of crosses during the 90, alongside teammate David Luiz who played a vital part in the attacking play by getting the ball up the field as quickly as possible.

Tierney was able to keep Matt Doherty quiet for the majority of the game and comfortably controlled the left-hand side.

The majority of Arsenal’s forward play does come from the left-hand side, as players like Tierney and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang like to cut in from the left flank and create chances that way.

The Scotsman has completely revitalised Arsenal’s left flank and is a very exciting player going forward Into the future.
