In a Rival game, one thing that players have to show is passion, and today that certainly didn’t go amiss. The players put up a fight and didn’t let anything get in their way.

Arsenal tend to switch off if they go 1-0 down and become very defensive and sit back a lot, but to come back from 1-0 down through a terrific goal is amazing, especially against a side who in the reverse fixture before Christmas beat them 2-0 comfortably when they took their chances.

Arteta said in his post-match press conference, ” to be as aggressive as we were to regain the ball, to play with a personality that we showed, it was great.”

The aggression was shown more than it was when Arsenal were defeated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is why Arsenal came out on top and rightly deserved the win.

Granit Xhaka especially showed passion and aggression, making some great last-ditch tackles.

The Swiss international won four duels and successfully attempted two tackles, while also making four interceptions and nine recoveries.

Xhaka has been in conversations recently for mixed reasons, but I think he’s such a vital player and plays a pivotal role in the midfield alongside Thomas Partey. He’s a player who really likes to get stuck in, sometimes resulting in being shown yellow and red cards, but having that sort of player in the squad that will take those risks is so important.
