It’s taken a while for Arteta to give Martinelli minutes this season, much less a place in the starting XI, but Sunday proved that the youngster deserves many more minutes. The patience the 19-year old has had this season with Arteta has most certainly shown through the passion, drive and determination he displays on the pitch.

His ability to carry the ball down the right wing with such confidence and ease is something that Arsenal are always looking for in their attack, and he was also a threat in front of goal, having a total of four shots, two being on target and two being off.

Martinelli also had a pass accuracy of 91% and completed three accurate crosses as he proved to Arteta that he should be given more minutes as the season gradually comes to a close.

He successfully completed four dribbles, which was only equalled by his teammate Saka. With the youngster being a threat in front of goal as well as down the wing, Arteta has a talented youngster right in front of him who can be played as a centre forward as well as a right-winger and will be crucial in the squad next season.

This was only Martinelli’s eighth Premier League start this season, and he was the standout player on the pitch, showing passion and drive going forward, and producing a man of the match performance.
