Pep Guardiola confirms Barcelona signing
Sergio Aguero has been consistently linked with a move to Barcelona when it was announced he would be winding down his contract with Manchester City.
With the Argentinian becoming a free agent and the Catalans being limited financially, the signing made sense. Still, nothing was official.
However, now it seems all but inevitable as his soon-to-be former manager Pep Guardiola publicly confirmed the signing after their game against Everton during. a post match interview.
Aguero’s impending Barcelona move could impact Lionel Messi’s decision
Another thing Guardiola said was that Aguero was going to go and play with the best player of all time in Lionel Messi. For those looking for any clues about Messi’s future, it could be a sign that he’s going to stay at Barcelona.
It is no secret that Aguero and Messi are very good friends and the possibility of both of them playing on the same team could sway Messi’s final decision.

Aguero did not start the game but came on and managed to score a brace in the 5-0 win. Despite being days away from turning 33, when healthy, he still appears to have the capabilities to be a top level striker in Europe.
He would temporarily solve a hole in the Barcelona side as they struggled to play without a natural striker this season. The decision to not find a suitable replacement for Luis Suarez came back to haunt them.
There had been leaks of his rumored Barcelona contract as well. That he had to lower his wage demands was no secret but he could end up learning less than half of what he was on with City.
Aguero had an injury plagued season but still managed to score six goals in 18 games in the Premier League and Champions League. Similar to Suarez, he’s going to go to Barcelona with something to prove.
