Clement Lenglet is one of the players Barcelona would offload for the right price

Barcelona has a surplus of players in nearly every position and are aware they need to trim their squad and offload a number of players.

The biggest obstacle in their way is finding a team able to negotiate for one of the players Barcelona would be willing to part with.

According to Sport, Everton manager Rafael Benitez is keen on his club signing Clement Lenglet as a replacement for Yerry Mina.

The Toffees have a history of signing Barcelona players. On their team, they currently have Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes and the aforementioned Mina. All three used to call the Camp Nou home.

Benitez does not rate Mina and is not in his plans for the team he is trying to assemble. He believes Lenglet would be an upgrade for the Colombian.

Barcelona would consider selling Lenglet if the right offer came along. However, they would have to convince the Frenchman to leave as he has no intentions of leaving this summer.

Lenglet had a poor campaign last season. He was part of a Barcelona defense that gave up goals way too easily and is one of the reasons as to why the Catalans dropped so many points early in the season and fell late when they had an opportunity to win the league.

His international cameo with France in Euro 2020 did not go much better as he only played 45 minutes in their game against Switzerland. He played a role in the opening Swiss goal and was subbed off after halftime.

But he had a good debut season for Barcelona and his performances for Sevilla were good enough that the club decided to sign him.

A change of scenery may not be the worst thing for Lenglet. If nothing else, he would be joining an Everton side where he was a signing requested by the manager, which means he would be an important part of his set up.
