The latest contract rejection puts Mbappé’s PSG future in serious doubt
PSG is reportedly no longer shutting the door on a possible exit regarding their star player Kylian Mbappé.
According to ESPN, the French forward rejected the club’s latest proposal earlier this week. PSG were offering a five-year extension with an option for a sixth.

With his contract expiring next year, the Ligue 1 giants now face the real possibility of losing him as a free agent unless they change course and opt to sell him this summer.
While it’s bad news for PSG, it is encouraging news for Real Madrid who have made no secret of their desire to sign Mbappé.
Marca, citing French outlet RMC, report that Real Madrid have yet to make an official offer to PSG for the 22-year-old. However, this latest development has to have given them a huge boost in their efforts.
With the new Santiago Bernabeu set to be finished soon, there is nothing more president Florentino Perez would like then to inaugurate it with Mbappé as the headliner.
The club has certainly been selling players towards their goal of raising enough money to fund a move.
The question now becomes how badly Mbappé wants to move to Real Madrid. Especially right now considering the gap in talent when comparing the two sides. LaLiga is a stronger league than Ligue 1 but PSG easily have a better squad than Real Madrid.
With the notable additions of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma, PSG has a team that makes them one of the favorites to win the Champions League.
Real Madrid cannot boast the same kind of talent as they appear to be in somewhat of a rebuild. They lost both their center-backs and their midfield, while still good, is an aging one.
PSG is a side that in recent history is not accustomed to losing star players. It’s been quite the opposite. It’s usually PSG who are trying to sign the best players from other teams.
They now find themselves in a difficult situation. With the transfer window set to close soon they are running out of time to come to a decision. Messi and Neymar are more than capable of leading the club in the short-term. The question then becomes whether PSG is ready to sacrifice the long-term in Mbappé for success right now.
