Germany’s promising young forward Karim Adeyemi is in Liverpool’s sights ahead of the January transfer window.

The Reds will go through a spell of six Premier League matches in early 2022 without their stars Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita and Sadio Mane, who are set to depart for national duty in pursuit of Africa Cup of Nations glory.

Adeyemi is one of the most sought-after prospects in the world right now. He has caught everyone’s attention with his impressive performances for RB Salzburg in both the UEFA Champions League and Austrian Bundesliga.

Adeyemi drawing interest from European giants

The 19-year-old prospect has been linked with the Reds for a while now and in a recent interview, he said that he is honored to be linked with huge club like Liverpool.

According to the Express, the Reds were linked to Adeyemi during the summer transfer window so they appear as interested in him as he is of them.

The German striker gave us a clue in an interview with Sky Austria.

"“I take it easy,” Adeyemi said. “I feel honored. But nothing more. I have my focus here at Salzburg. We play well together. It works perfectly. First of all, I want to progress with Salzburg. Then we’ll look further.”Source: Sky Austria"

It’s clear that the eye-catching youngster has finally opened the door for a move away from the Austrian club to join the Merseyside giants after admitting he feels “honored” to be linked with a January transfer.

Adeyemi has already scored 12 goals in just 17 games so far for RB Salzburg. The youngster is currently an affordable target for Liverpool as he could reportedly cost up to £34 million.

However, the Reds aren’t the only club interested in signing the rising star. The player has been noticeably scouted by Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

If Liverpool want to seal the deal they should make a genuine bid for Adeyemi in the January window in order to avoid competition from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund next summer.

Adeyemi could bring some spark to Anfield with his pace, skills, finishing and could add more versatility to the Reds attack in the long term — as of now they are loaded with superstars like Salah, Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.
