Sevilla reinforce the side as they look to catch Real Madrid in LaLiga

Anthony Martial looks to get his career back on track as the former Manchester United forward has signed for Sevilla on loan.

According to ESPN, the agreement is a six-month loan with no fee but with no option to make the move permanent.

The last couple of seasons have been rough for Martial who has not seen much playing time with the Red Devils. He played sparingly under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and even less so under Ralf Rangnick, which included a small spat with the United manager after not traveling with the team for a match against Aston Villa.

The writing was on the wall and an exit seemed inevitable.

Despite some interest from Juventus, Sevilla was the side that made the strongest push and, in the end, won the battle for his services.

"“I have joined for five months but you never know what the future holds,” Martial said.“It’s not just about money. It’s to play and to enjoy it. That’s it. That’s why I chose to come here, to play and to enjoy football again.“I want to play more and show what I can do. I believe Sevilla is the perfect place to do that. I want to score goals, provide assists and be crucial for this team in the next five months. There are many good players at Sevilla and I want to bring my experience to the side.”Source: Manchester Evening News"

Martial also mentioned the fact that manager Julen Lopetegui and Monchi, the club’s director of football, showed strong interest in him and that swayed his decision to sign for Sevilla.

The Frenchman knows there are going to be high expectations of him but he is looking forward to that challenge.

"“I want to help the club achieve it’s aims,” he said. “We have to be consistent in LaLiga and do the best we can knowing that there are other big clubs that want to win the title.”“I have trained a lot in the past few months. I want to adapt as soon as possible to the team and connect well with my teammates to help them reach the aims for the season. I’m ready to play.”Source: ESPN"

With the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid struggling this season, Sevilla is the only club at the moment within striking distance of LaLiga leaders Real Madrid.
