Barcelona were in desperate need of a good European performance

There were plenty of doubts hanging over Barcelona heading into the second leg of their Europa League fixture against Napoli.

The Catalans have been on the receiving end of lopsided scorelines over the recent years in the Champions League. It was only natural for those concerns to be there once again.

However, Barcelona quelled some of those doubts and beat the Serie A side to advance to the round of 16.

The side managed by Xavi Hernandez scored early and did not let up. They stifled Napoli and aside from a few hiccups, dominated the match for the majority of the game.

There are plenty of positives for Xavi and his players to take away from the win. Here are three talking points coming out of Barcelona’s 4-2 (5-3 agg.) win.
