The Premier League is back after the short international break. As we move into the final stretch of the season, almost every game holds significance. But, some games are just more important than others.

The title race is heating up with Manchester City and Liverpool neck-and-neck at the top. Meanwhile, there is stiff competition for 4th place in the Premier League table – Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, and West Ham United all vying for that spot.

After the two-week delay, some enticing fixtures are on the horizon. Let’s have a look at the most eye-catching games on display this weekend.

Man City and Liverpool face relegation battlers

Man City have had their once-formidable lead over Liverpool cut down to just a single point over the last few months. Jurgen Klopp’s side has won 9 out of 10 Premier League games in 2022, peaking at the right time.

City can’t afford to drop a single point if they wish to win the title. The equations are quite simple: win all the remaining games and they win the Premier League. They face Burnley next, a side infamous for playing an 18th-century, defensive football style.

The Clarets have lost 3 out of their last 4, conceding 9 goals. The Citizens should be refreshed after the international break and have the firepower to blow away Burnley. Expect them to get a comfortable win to keep their Premier League title charge going on.

Liverpool also faces a relegation dweller as Watford visit Anfield. Knowing just how dominant they’ve been, this should be another easy ride for Klopp’s men. Watford has lost 3 out of their last 5 games and look uninspired under Roy Hodgson.

The Reds should be energized by the loud Anfield crowd and should put on another thrilling display at home, getting a major win to keep the pressure piled at the top of the table.

Struggling United face Leicester City

Manchester United’s season has spiraled downwards quickly. In the last month, they’ve suffered an embarrassing loss to City in the Manchester Derby and gotten knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Atletico Madrid.

All there is to play for this season for the Red Devils it that 4th place in the Premier League. But with Arsenal 4 points ahead (with a game in hand), Ralf Rangnick’s side can’t afford to drop any more points.

They face a Leicester City side riddled with inconsistency this season. Brendan Rodgers’ team have won 3 out of 9 Premier League games this year. They’re struggling with injuries and face a United side desperate to get a big win to regain their fans’ faith.

But, the Red Devils have been defensively poor and conceded more goals than anyone else in the Premier League top-10 this season. This should be a pretty end-to-end game with a lot of action on both sides of the pitch.

With that being said, Rangnick’s side has been pretty solid at home, winning 3 of their last 5 league home games. With Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes reinvigorated after attaining World Cup qualification with Portugal, the Red Devils should produce an attack-minded, efficient display to nudge out a win at Old Trafford.

Best of the rest in Premier League weekend

Chelsea are going through a difficult period because of the uncertainty revolving around the ownership but has been in fine form in 2022 on the pitch.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are gunning for a top-3 finish and hopes to continue their fine run in the Premier League. They host a Brentford side who have been inspired by the arrival of Christian Eriksen, but are still lacking the quality to match up to the top sides.

This should be a comfortable win for Chelsea as they aim to gain momentum before the big Champions League clash against Real Madrid. Their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur host resurgent Newcastle United in a must-win scenario.

Antonio Conte’s men need to maintain a winning run if they’re to pip Arsenal or Man United to the top-4 spot. But with Spurs looking vulnerable under pressure and Newcastle gaining confidence as of late, this should be an action-packed game that could go either way.

Arsenal, sitting comfortably in the 4th spot, must win for their lead to stay intact. They face a Crystal Palace side that could miss talisman Wilfried Zaha. With the Gunners having won their last 5 away league games, they’re likely to bounce off their in-form youngsters and sail to another win.
