Paul Pogba’s time at Manchester United looks to be coming to an end. The Frenchman will be out of contract in June and doesn’t seem too eager to sign a new deal with the Red Devils. Pogba has had a polarizing time at Old Trafford since rejoining them in 2016 for £89m.

Sure, he’s had short spells of profound brilliance and produced some highly memorable moments. Yet, Pogba has failed to be the “main man” for United and has been unable to help them get back to the top of the Premier League ladder.

With United fans now satisfied to let him leave and Pogba yearning for a new challenge, a departure looks like the best possible outcome for all parties. The Frenchman would instantly improve any side he joins as his exceptional ability is well known. So here are three potential destinations for Pogba next season.

A return to Juventus

Pogba left Juventus when he decided to return to United in 2016. But he hasn’t been able to experience the highs at Old Trafford that he did with the Italian club during his period. The Italian club are interested in signing him for free (via Sky Sports) in the summer, meaning a golden opportunity awaits.

A move back to Italy could be really profitable for Pogba. He knows exactly what it takes to excel at Juve, having scored 34 goals and recording 40 assists in 178 appearances for them. The Frenchman played really well under current manager Massimiliano Allegri, having the freedom to run the show in midfield and play his natural role.

Juve are in desperate need to boost their midfield with a creative, Rolls Royce-esque midfielder like Pogba. They would really enjoy someone with his qualities, a player who moves the ball forward quickly, finds others in open space in the final third and helps control games without disruption.

None of Juve’s midfielders have reached 10 contributions this season – Manuel Locatelli has 3 goals and 4 assists. Pogba has 9 assists and 1 goal this season, possessing that innovative spark that could take Juve to another level.

Could Pogba make a ‘dream move’ to Real Madrid?

Pogba has never really shied away from stating his admiration for Real Madrid. In 2020, he claimed that it was his “dream” to play for the La Liga giants at some point. There isn’t  a better time to realize that dream than later this year.

Madrid could be very tempted to sign someone of Pogba’s qualities. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are reaching the end of their careers and there aren’t alternatives on the roster. Pogba’s arrival could give Carlo Ancelotti’s side another avenue to build their attacks from, knowing the Frenchman’s impressive ability to create from the central areas.

Karim Benzema has linked up brilliantly with Pogba for France and Eduardo Camavinga also knows how to play with him. If Los Blancos are able to conjure the finances and Pogba is willing to reduce his wage demands slightly, the Frenchman could become their “Galactico” signing next season and realize his ambitions of joining a team capable of winning and competing for major trophies every single season.

The Last Dance in France?

Paul Pogba realizes that his next long-term contract will probably be his final lucrative deal before retirement. As a result, it’s not out of the question to prioritize the most beneficial contract to ensure he keeps getting paid big money the next few years.

Few clubs will be able to match Pogba’s huge salary demands, as according to SportRac the midfielder wants a raise to his current £290,000-a-week salary at United. One of the major European teams who won’t have an issue paying him a big salary is PSG.

The Ligue 1 side are in the race for Pogba and are willing to offer massive wages (as per The Daily Mail). PSG needs a reliable creative figure in midfield, as they need more attacking support from those in the middle. Playing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Marco Veratti will only make Pogba look better than he does at United.

Next. Kylian Mbappe open to remaining with PSG. dark

The Frenchman can bring more dynamism, creativity, and urgency to PSG’s midfield, helping them maintain a more strict line. Moreover, his impressive link-up play and forward passing ability can ensure he thrives in their fast-paced, attacking style and help set up more goals for Messi & co.
