Robert Lewandowski looks to be nearing the end of his journey at Bayern Munich. Since joining the club in 2014, the Polish forward has won eight Bundesliga titles and a UEFA Champions League title.

He’s scored 343 goals in 373 appearances for them and became FIFA’s The Best Men’s Player award winner earlier this year.

After enjoying such a prolific stay, Lewandowski seems to be craving for a new challenge in his career. With his contract set to expire next year and contract extension talks breaking down, Lewandowski could be looking to leave in the summer.

So which club could have the honor of signing the prolific No. 9? Here are three potential options.

Lewandowski to FC Barcelona?

If Lewandowski was to move over the summer, he’d definitely look to get out of Germany. He’s been playing in the Bundesliga for over a decade now and would want a new challenge at his next club.

A formidable challenge right now, for any major player, would be to help FC Barcelona get back to being the best team in Europe under Xavi Hernandez.

Lewandowski is being heavily linked to a summer move to Camp Nou. He has even agreed to a potential switch to Barça (via Sports Illustrated) if they’re able to fulfill his salary demands.  This move can be a smart one for the Polish forward and help him achieve his last big hurrah.

Barça desperately need a quality No. 9 who can convert all the chances they create. Lewandowski is probably the most clinical forward in world football, having scored 49 goals this season.

This is a match made for each other and the prospect of helping Barça win the La Liga title and another Champions League title after a long drought could be a mouth-watering prospect for the Polish striker.

Link-up with Messi at PSG

Like Barcelona, PSG are also likely to be in the hunt for a new striker in the summer – irrespective of whether or not Kylian Mbappe stays or leaves. Mauro Icardi has failed to impress, while Lionel Messi looks more suited to the right-wing role than anything else.

PSG always love to create “dream partnerships” and signing Lewandowski would be like checking another box in their quest to create a super-team. The Polish striker’s agent reportedly spoke with the Ligue 1 giants about a summer move (as per Mundo Deportivo) as Mauricio Pochettino looks interested.

The French side could get a huge boost with Lewandowski’s arrival as the striker can basically be the final piece of the puzzle. Bayern Munich would want around €70m-€80m (as per Di Marzio) for selling him, but that shouldn’t be a problem for PSG.

The prospect of facing Lewandowski and Messi together, as well as Neymar, could be a nightmare for any team and help PSG dominate European football going forward.

Become Manchester City’s star striker

The biggest reason behind Manchester City stumbling in the last hurdles of the Champions League in recent years has been the lack of a proper, clinical forward who can perform in big games. Pep Guardiola’s side are guaranteed to go hunting for a striker in the summer and could be tempted by Lewandowski.

The Premier League leaders are interested in the Polish forward (as per Fichajes) as they aim to further strengthen their attack for next season. Lewandowski could be a unique addition to the team, whose role would be to focus on finishing chances rather than help with link-up play or anything else.

Guardiola has worked with Lewandowski in the past (during his time as Bayern Munich boss from 2014 to 2016) and knows how to get the best out of him. Only this time if he aims to sign him for Man City, the Citizens will get the goal machine still at his peak, and spending big for him won’t be such a bad idea.
