Ousmane Dembele’s contract with FC Barcelona runs out next month. Showing no inclination to sign an extension, the Frenchman is set to leave the club for free after a 4-year stay.

Dembele’s journey at Barca has been troublesome, especially as he’s spent a significant amount of his time there on the injury list. Still, the winger showcased his talent thanks to a second-half resurgence that produced a prolific personal campaign. Dembele finished with the most assists in La Liga – 13.

Because of his potential and exciting style, a lot of clubs will be willing to take a risk on signing him. So let’s look at some potential destinations for Dembele next season.

Dembele as PSG’s next big free signing

The new fashion statement in European football almost seems to be joining PSG on a free transfer. Leo Messi, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma all did that last season and Dembele could follow suit this time around.

PSG are pushing for his signing and are ready to accept his wage demands. As per Diario AS, the Frenchman rejected Barca’s contract offer in favour of a move to PSG in the summer. Ousmane’s versatility and speed mean he could be a good fit for PSG’s attack.

He’s already played with Messi (at Barcelona) and Kylian Mbappe (for France) – meaning Dembele knows their strengths and how to link up with them perfectly. Playing a free attacking role for PSG might help the Frenchman find his ultimate potential and fire up the French side’s prospects. He could be expected to add goals & assists to their tally and boost their Champions League dreams.

Return to Bundesliga with Bayern Munich

Dembele earned his €100m+ move to FC Barcelona because of his heroics in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund. It might be beneficial to return to the scene of his early successes in hopes of finding the best, injury-free years of his career.

According to L’Equipe, Bayern Munich are eager to sign the Frenchman and are holding talks with his representatives. At a club like Bayern, Dembele can expect to win trophies throughout his stay. They win the Bundesliga every season, and always compete for the Champions League. The German club has a history of helping players tap into their best form.

A creative threat like Dembele could thrive alongside talented attackers like Leroy Sane, Robert Lewandowski (if he stays), Thomas Muller and others. He can be their tour de force in the attack, forcing moves and creating that “special something” with his pacey movement and impressive final product.

A move to Bayern could help Dembele fulfill his dreams of winning the Champions League while delivering major contributions every season.

Reunion with Tuchel at Chelsea

While a move to a club like Bayern Munich or PSG could help Dembele stay in his comfort zone, if he really wants to challenge himself, he might benefit from a move to the Premier League. A reunion with former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is an enticing prospect for the Frenchman.

The Blues are said to be interested in a move for the soon-to-be free agent and are ready to open talks for his signing (as per 90min). Chelsea has lacked a consistent, efficient winger the past few seasons – with neither Hakim Ziyech nor Timo Werner proving up to the task.

Dembele could revitalize their attack and be the missing spark in their front-3. His ability to play anywhere in attack means Chelsea can give him a free role and let him threaten from whichever position necessary.

Ousmane’s creative ability would also benefit Romelu Lukaku, providing the Belgian more clear-cut scoring chances. Tuchel has gotten the best out of the Frenchman in the past (at Dortmund) and can do the same once again.

Next. Barcelona end disastrous season with a loss. dark

Dembele could very well be the playmaker Chelsea is looking for and with the Blues he’d have a shot at establishing the reputation as one of the world’s very best while competing for Premier League hardware.
