Lewandowski wants Bayern Munich exit to join Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski has not exactly made it a secret he wants out of Bayern Munich. Both he and his agent have made that quite clear.

The Polish striker is seemingly trying to force Bayern’s hands and make them sell him as he once again expressed his desire to leave the German giants in an interview with Polish outlet Onet Sport.

"“I just want to leave Bayern,” said Lewandowski. “Loyalty and respect are more important than the work. The best thing to do is find a solution together. Something has died in me, I need new emotions.“During so many years at the club I was always ready, available, despite injuries and the pain, I gave my best. I think the best thing to do is to find a good solution for both sides. I’m not looking for a unilateral solution, that makes no sense, not after so much time, after such a successful era and with my will and support.”Source: Diario Sport"

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez wants a world-class striker for his project and believes Lewandowski would be the ideal fit. The feeling appears mutual as Lewandowski wants a move to the Catalan giants and is not considering any other offers.

The problem for Lewandowski and Barcelona is Bayern Munich are not too keen on letting him leave. At least not before they find an adequate replacement. Liverpool’s Sadio Mane has been linked with a move to Bayern and could be the replacement they’re looking for.

Even if they were to start negotiations, there is also the matter of Barcelona’s lack of money and need to offload players in order to reduce the wage bill. The latter has become exacerbated by their refusal to sign the agreement with CVC.

Despite their financial difficulties, they have made an opening offer of €32 million plus add-ons. Bayern have received their offer but have yet to provide a response.

Lewandowski is certainly doing his part to join Barcelona as he’s using every opportunity to state how he considers his Bayern career over. With one year left on his contract, it’s only a matter of time before the two clubs sit down and work on a deal beneficial to all parties as it makes little sense to keep a player who no longer wants to be there.
