Some stats and trivia at the quarter-pole
Matchday 4 of the Apertura 2022 is in the books and there is a three-way tie atop the Liga MX table.
Monterrey, Toluca and Tigres have each claimed 9 points (3-0-1 records) but they’ll have no time to rest on their laurels because the league is in the midst of a three-games-in-12-days gauntlet.
The Liga MX– in its haste to complete the season before the World Cup begins in November – has scheduled three Midweek Matchdays and the first kicks off on Tuesday, so we’ve got just enough time for a cursory review of the Apertura thus far.
Here’s a tidbit to get this review started: through 36 matches, Liga MX road teams have fared quite well, losing just 13 times with 11 wins and 12 draws.
