Goals galore during busy Liga MX weekend

Fans in attendance to see the “Clásico Regiomontano” on Saturday (a scoreless draw between host Monterrey and Tigres), tops in Liga MX this season. That surpassed the 45,893 who packed into the Estadio CU to watch the “Clásico Capitalino” on Aug. 13 (visiting América defeated host UNAM 3-0)

Goals conceded by Cruz Azul. After getting humiliated by crosstown rivals América by a 7-0 score-line on Saturday (the worst loss in franchise history), the Cementeros are giving up 2.5 goals per game, the worst defense in Liga MX by far (León is next with 19 goals allowed).

Goals scored by Monterrey and América this season to lead all Liga MX teams. The Aguilas have a game in hand so they have a better scoring average (2.22 goals per game compared to 2.0 for the Rayados).
