Kylian Mbappe-to-Real Madrid rumors revived, announcement in the offing
The most anticipated transfer since last summer is suddenly looking more likely and Real Madrid fans might be celebrating in the coming days.
With rumors swirling about Kylian Mbappe’s destination for the 2023-24 season, the French striker has been linked with Real Madrid multiple times. However, he’s publicly stated his willingness to start the new campaign with Paris Saint Germain, with whom he has a contract through June 2024. But that’s only the beginning of this story.
On RMC’s ‘After Foot’ show, Yvan Le Mée, football agent for multiple players including Real Madrid left back Ferland Mendy, said “If Mbappé is not at Madrid, it is because his mother doesn’t wanted it. She is not officially an agent, but she does have a lot of power over Mbappé.”
In the same interview, Yvan Le Mée was blunt in predicting that Mbappé will not sign for Real Madrid this summer. The renowned agent said “Will Mbappé go to Real Madrid this summer? Absolutely not, I have good relations with Real Madrid, but they have no money.”
However, there’s been a twist. Spanish journalist François Gallardo of El Chiringuito tweeted that the transfer will be completed very soon. “On July 6 or 7, Madrid fans are going to have a BIG JOY. Kylian Mbappé will become a Real Madrid player and fulfill his dream. It’s not long now! Be very calm and listen to me. I have not failed in this case since 2021.”
Although Real Madrid’s idea has been to stay with the same squad, there have been unexpected moves during the first couple of weeks of this summer window. According to journalist Pacojó of Cadena SER on AStv’s Mercado de Fichajes, the options Real Madrid have will make them “pay heavily” for the goals of European stars. The journalist spoke about Victor Osimhen, current Napoli player and last season’s capocannoniere with that team.
Pacojó said Napoli would be demand 180 million euros for a transfer. On the other hand, also in Italy, in Turin to be specific, Juventus would be interested in loaning 23-year-old Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who scored 14 goals for La Vecchia Signora last season. So, if Los Blancos don’t have a striker by the end of the transfer window, Florentino Perez might consider discussing such a loan, according to the journalist.
