Franck Kessié has been the subject of transfer rumors well before the season ended. The former AC Milan midfielder arrived at Barcelona on a free but was unable to establish himself as a starter in his first season at the club.

With Barcelona’s financial situation, he was one of the names mentioned as a possible departure since the Catalan side would collect all of a potential transfer see since he joined as a free agent.

For his part, Kessié has remained steadfast that he wanted to stay and fight for his place.

That is, until now.

According to Relevo’s Matteo Moretto, Kessié has finally opened the door to a possible exit as he’s become disillusioned with how his situation has been handled. His relationship with Xavi has deteriorated as the manager has made it clear he won’t see much playing time next season.

One of the reasons why Kessié opted to sign for Barcelona is because of Xavi and to see it flipped hasn’t left a good taste in the mouth of the midfielder.

Kessié was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but decided to reject the lucrative offer.

He’s also been linked with Juventus as the Serie A side was interested in a loan move with an obligation to buy. However, that interest seems to have cooled somewhat.

A move back to Italy isn’t on the cards for Kessié as he considers his time at Italy over. If it were up to him, he’d prefer to go to a side in England.

That desire may end being fulfilled as according to Diario Sport, Tottenham is interested in Kessié and could even make an offer next week. While Barcelona were initially aiming to get at least €25 million, the report claims Barcelona would be willing to accept €15 million.

At the same time, Barcelona is in no hurry to get rid of Kessié as they believe better offers could still arrive.

Across all competitions, Kessié played in 43 matches, 16 as a starter, scoring three goals and providing three assists. His most notable goal came at the Camp Nou against Real Madrid where he scored a dramatic late game winner that all but gave Barcelona the league title.
