Mauricio Pochettino certainly has his work cut out for him at Chelsea as the Blues suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge to Nottingham Forest.

Former Manchester United player Anthony Elanga scored the winner for the visitors.

Despite spending more than €1 billion since Todd Boehly took over, Chelsea look as lost since he took over. There’s been minimal improvement, if any, with Pochettino. Boehly is already on his fourth manager after sacking Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.

Chelsea had 75 percent of the possession and 19 shots, though only two on target. New signing Nicolas Jackson essentially missed an open net opportunity and a chance to tie the game.

A striker was something Chelsea was missing since they sent out Romelu Lukaku on loan. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned out to not be the answer and they’ve yet to find a solution. All the money spent has been on young attacking players but no one to actually put the ball in the back of the net.

A bloated squad hasn’t made things any easier for Pochettino as he still doesn’t seem to know his best starting eleven.

Normally, with so many additions, patience would be a given.

All the signings, including Pochettino, were brought in to speed up the rebuilding process and improve on a dismal last season. That patience was thin to begin with and is only getting thinner after every trip up and poor performances.

If there is any silver lining is that it’s only four games in the season, meaning there is some time for Pochettino to find out what works and what doesn’t and turn things around.

With the loss to Forest, Chelsea now sit in 11th place with only one win in four matches.
