The Apertura 2023 is poised at the top of the back stretch – 80 games in the books, 73 games remaining – yet a pair of Liga MX minnows are hanging on among the leaders.

In fact, Atlético de San Luis continues to be the revelation of the season, perched atop the Liga Mx table with 19 points, one better than powerhouse América.

The Tuneros finished the Clausura 2023 in 12th place – with 19 points! And first-year coach Gustavo Leal has led the team to more wins – 6 – than they had last season (5).

FC Juárez has been a cellar-dweller for six of the past seven seasons, making the playoffs just once since joining Liga MX in 2019. This season, the Bravos have been lurking among the top spots and find themselves in fourth place

“El Rebaño Sagrado” will be trying to turn around their fortunes. After a 3-0-0 start, the Chivas have gone 1-2-3 and slipped from first place to seventh.
